Thalangama Tank

This is situated between Pothuarawa GND and Wickramasinghapura GND. This has built in the era of King Parakramabahu the 6th for paddy cultivation. The surrounding area of tank is a habitat for around 90 bird species (13 are migrants), and also for exotic and endemic fresh water fish species

Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya

This has devoted to goddess pattini and built by King Gajaba the 1st during early Anuradhapura period. When King arrived from India with 12,00 prisoners, brought anklet of goddess pattini, in the landed place he built the develaya. At present this has declared as sacred area under Urban Development Authority. Daily more than 300 devotees visit this place for get blessed from goddess pattini.

Iyerwatta Gal Bungalow (Rock Bungalow)

Was built by British planters in 1922, entirely from graphite. At present this belongs to Puswella plantation company.

Kurugala Kanda watta

The height is about 155 meters. Top of the mountain there is a cave which belongs to archeological department. The mountain top is about 50 acres in extent, so people can freely enjoy the surrounding places as Colombo city, Sri paadha mountain range, Horana and Kaluthara towns.

Wewe kele natural forest

This is about 45 acres in extent and belongs to Seethawaka urban council. This place is using for the experiments and educational purposes of the students who follow biology and environmental studies. The lake which is situated inside the forest has used to supply water to the Avissawella hospital at British era. this is a place where tourist can see variety of rare fauna flora species and also small streams in one location, in Colombo urban area

Boralasgamuwa Wewa

It is said that this lake was built in Kotte kingdom era. There is a small island in the middle of the river where different kind of birds can be seen

Kaimon Dorakada (Kaimon Gate)

This was used as a security gate of eastern part of pettah in in Portuguese era. And this was also used as the gateway to Grandpass, Littlepass etc. The meaning of the Kaimon is ‘the large crocodile”.
